Areas of Practice
Schools
Students benefit from therapy dogs in a multitude of ways. Programs may include reading support, confidence building, ice-breakers, decreasing phobias, increasing self-esteem, and many, more.
Mental health
In collaboration with a licensed mental health provider, a therapy dog can be utilized with a variety of therapeutic interventions and can aid in ice-breakers, confidence building, desensitization and phobia reduction.
dentist office
Dentophobia is decreased through a therapy dog that can decrease anxiety in a waiting room, or during a patient visit. The dog can provide comfort through petting, or as a weight on a patient's lap during routine dental exams.
Libraries
Reading programs such as D.E.A.R., PAWS for Reading, Tail Waggin' Tutors, and R.E.A.D, are already implemented in numerous libraries and schools across the country. Kat and Indy can provide a reliable, and consistent form of these programs by scheduling daily, or weekly visits.
